In a headless setup WordPress only manages content; the site is built as a separate front end. This very site works that way.
Pros
- Very fast, static pages
- A smaller attack surface
- Complete design freedom
Things to watch out for
Previews and plugin compatibility take extra effort. For multi-author sites with constantly changing content, classic WordPress can still be more practical.
